Before I start rambling about this outfit and explain myself why the hell I would wear platforms in the mountains and haven’t died yet, I just wanted to point out one thing. TODAY IS MONDAY THE 1ST! It’s it the most satisfying week ever or what? Well, maybe besides the weather of course. But besides that the fact the first of the month happens on the Monday, let alone Bank Holiday Monday, it makes it even better. I like to think that is a second Sunday of some sort, you know, it totally ok to just chill the whole day and not feel guilty about not accomplishing the tasks that you set yourself for the day, even though I personally would still be annoyed with myself. Maybe that’s why these kind of days exist, so for once we could just take it easy. Not care what’s going on in the outside world, as much as it’s important, let’s face it at the state that it is in, we have to switch off from it. Maybe get lost in the middle of woods, or mountains, with no signal, human interaction, just nature, wild animals, the sound of the wind dancing between the brunches. This time of the year is also the best of these type of adventures as everything is growing and blooming to experiencing that in real life, instead of from a screen, is just the best! I’m being a little hypocrite typing about escaping into the nature as I’m currently, typing this blog post from the central of London. Well, I guess I spend so much of my time surrounded by nature that I needed an escape from that.
how to wear platforms in the mountains without dying?
It’s actually very simple. Don’t. I’m being dead serious, unless of course you are done with your life or the thought of owing legs. I wish I was that badass to wear these shoes, in the middle of forest and mountains! I would be one badass if I would, but the smart side of me was actually awake on that day and I’ve only worn these amazing YRU platforms only for the photos and for the rest of the day my favourite pair of vegan, black Dr. Martens were the star of the show. And please get use to seeing these YRU platforms over here are they will be shown quite frequently, heck, these are the only shoes I’m wearing while being in London. With the 4″ platforms these are the perfect going-out, casual shoes you can come across. Even though they are trainers, they do go in fact with pretty much everything, I styled them with dresses, shorts, long trousers… you name it. These shoes are perfect. I’ve wanted to get these shoes for absolute ages, however every single time I’ve seen them on UK websites, they were either completely sold out or out of my size, or the biggest issue of them all, they weren’t black. I also looked on American websites as well, I was that desperate, however if I found them, they were just so expensive when adding the shipping and possible customs, that they price point would be so high I just didn’t bother. Then one day I decided to go on Depop and typed “YRU” in the Women’s and Shoes section and the first pair that showed where exactly these shoes! In my size and in a condition that wasn’t too bad, not brand new but not unwearable! Of course I had to get them, especially for the price of £30! It’s like online thrifting! I love it!
These shoes make such a statement that even the most simple outfit is going to look great. That’s why when I’ve wanted to shoot these shoes for the first time, in rather simple outfit, and considering the fact that me and my family went on a long walk, on that day, comfortable one as well. And all black outfits are just the best aren’t they? As always the only pop of colour I’ve wanted to include was my make up and surprisingly, the little pink unicorn embroidery on my socks! I didn’t realise how it all went together, with the shade of my eyeshadow until I sat down to edit these images! I’m not complaining however, I love having my outfits and make up co-ordinated! I found these socks, in a 3 pack in Primark in Germany when I went to Leipzig and hand to get them, I never seen them in the UK Primark. Maybe you have, let me know! I wish I would get more of them to be honest, I love dark socks with little detail to them!
I hope you enjoyed this blog post and pictures that my mum did of me, I must say considering the fact that she hasn’t taken photos of me in ages, she did such a good job!
