On Thursday I have attended Autumn Winter 2014 Collection Presentation by Simon Ekrelius and POP PR. The new collection by this Swedish born women’s wear designer was held in Rag Factory in Brick Lane, which in my opinion is a fantastic place for a fashion or art related event! I was accompanied by Alma Rosaz, who does photography for this blog, and my friend and style blogger Josh Milton to see this fantastic collection in my own eyes. The room were the event was held was pure white, with very industrial sealing, which next to tailored garments shown on mannequins gave a very modern, artistic feeling to the whole event. The “MONOCHROMATIC” collection was inspired by Vogue photographer Lee Miller and his model, and the relationship to photography and a feeling of many secrets. The whole collection was tailored. With lots of different textures, shapes and silhouettes, it was pleasure to watch, feel and definitely wear! For this season Simon Ekrelius has designed a selection of dresses, jackets, tops and hand pleated pieces as well as ballooned trousers and long pencil skirts. I have mentioned this on several occasions I love monochrome in fashion ! And when it’s mixed with textures and different shapes that’s when it becomes a magnificent piece of art!
